Sorry for yet another NY-23 update, but this news is huge.
Last week, conservative bloggers called for Dede Scozzafava, the liberal Republican running for Congress in New York's 23rd Congressional District, to drop out of the race, triggering a stampede of prominent conservatives to endorse conservative Doug Hoffman's campaign.
Today, Scozzafava bowed to the pressure and announced that she is suspending her campaign, just three days away from the election.
Just think of the heat that had to be generated to get an establishment-backed candidate to drop out 72 hours before an election, which is why I labeled it as a coming-of-age of conservative bloggers.
Dede Scozzafava's ill-fated campaign will make all establishment Republicans look over their shoulder at the conservatives they are leaving behind, conservatives that have grown rapidly in strength.

Michelle Malkin called the Republican nominee a "radical leftist" recently. Who represents your party more your nominee or Michelle Malkin?
ROTFLMAO!! Any Republican who is not a right wing nutjob(They are NOT conservative by the way) is called a "liberal".
The Ocean, if you look at the big-name Republican candidates, we get McCain, Schwarzenegger, George W. Bush, etc. Not what I would exactly call conservatives. Bush radically increased the size of government, McCain advocated bailouts, and don't get me started on Arnold. Palin, who is the biggest national conservative figure, is an establishment outcast.
Based on the above, I'd have to say that Scozzafava more represents the party than conservatives like Malkin.
jw, does it surprise you to learn that Scozzafava has now endorsed the Democrat in the race over the conservative? Does that sound like something a conservative Republican would do?
It sounds like something a moderate Republican would do if the other Republican running was a right wing nutjob and not a true conservative as is the case here.
