BREAKING: John and Ken lambaste Ventura city officials

I wouldn't want to be on the Ventura City Council right now.

Sources tell me that the council's decision to install parking meters in downtown Ventura--the implementation of which triggered an emotional meeting yesterday as store owners' plead for a moratorium--took center stage on John and Ken's popular talk radio show on KFI 640.

The hosts are well known for going after public officials they disagree with, as shown by their popular "heads on a stick" campaign.

Mayor Fulton apparently took the brunt of John and Ken's criticism when the duo read what the City Council did, and invited a downtown Ventura business owner on the show.

I emailed Fulton for comment, expecting his email inbox to be full already, but he says only about 10 emails came in on this subject in the last couple of hours.

The pummeling will likely embolden the business owners in their quest for a moratorium--if not an outright termination--of the parking meters that they say are severely damaging their business.

I'll post the audio as it becomes available.
