Why is NOW endorsing Brown?

Within a day of the revelation that gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown discussed calling opponent Meg Whitman a "whore" with an aide, he received the endorsement of the National Organization of Women.

In case that didn't register with some readers: a powerful man referred to a woman who he is in competition with as a "whore" and he then received an endorsement from the country's premier feminist organizations.

What's going on here?

Whitman is an accomplished businesswoman, something that feminists everywhere should love, and NOW is OK with a guy that called her a "sexist" name?

Brown supposedly used the word because he was upset that she was endorsed by a law enforcement union with whom he claimed she cut a deal. If that makes it OK to call her names, what name should Brown call a women's organization that sells out to a man just because he's a Democrat?

Simply put, the NOW is nothing more than a front organization for Progressive and Democratic causes. It no longer should have any credibility when it comes to women's issues.
