Proponents ignored

Re: your May 26 article, “Board lashes out at charter vote”:

I have no opinion about the issue discussed in this article. However, I do have an opinion about the quality of the reporting. What is obviously missing is the expressed input of those four board members who did vote to give Vista Real Charter School the OK to operate in the county.

The Star did well to meticulously record the various opponents to the decision, but what about the defense of the decision by the proponents? If an unsuccessful effort was made to contact any of these four board members, why was this fact not mentioned?

Such a blatant omission causes me to be very skeptical of The Star’s impartiality to the topic. How can it report this story without any input from those who made such a controversial decision? Certainly The Star’s readers need to understand the rationale of these four in order to appreciate their side of the issue.

I do not have any professional credentials to make a well-informed judgment on this issue. However, I am very suspicious about The Star’s bias toward those who oppose the board decision.
