Would it be possible for the news media to stop referring to ethnic groups as a race? In today’s world, the word “race” is no longer acceptable. We are a planet, full of people who come from different ethnic backgrounds. To refer to any group as a “race” does nothing but cause divisiveness.
Rejoice in the diversity that makes us strong. Reject the designations that only serve to weaken that strength.

I can tell your from an area that doesn't have much crime because of your "Happy go lucky" attitude about the world. In case you haven't listened to the news lately, we are at war, and there all ready is diviseness. Do you deal with the hispanic gangs, who hate the whites and the blacks?And vise versa? Are you a white woman who teaches in a school of 90% blacks who is afraid for her life? Are you a police officer who listens to the Police radio when told "Look out for 2 suspects in a stolen car-decription "Black Male" I wish the world could be as wonderful as you say.

There is one race, the human race, and that ranges from fertilized eggs to the elderly.
There is indeed strength in ethnic diversity, you are right, as that is how God created us--with variety and unique gifts and talents and personhood. The world is both beautiful and ugly--becasue we as humans corrupted it. Evil cannot be used as a justification for more evil.
Actually you are right to say that calling an ethnicity a race is basically divisiveness and racism--it is an evolutionary throwback [when evolution is not in any way a provable scientific fact]. Evolution and racism and a "survival of the fittest" attitude is indeed a basis for prejudice and thinking one group/ethnicity is superior to another. Hitler himself was, by his own admission, just acting like evolution told him to act by eliminating what he called the inferior Jews. We know that to be utter hogwash, but he really believed it--and justified himself with evolution to incite bogus "race"/class warfare, much like the liberals and affirmative-action lovers of today do. Similarly people use "race"/class warfare and evolution to justify atrocities--political and otherwise.
Racism in all it's forms is wrong, and that includes affirmative action racism. Even the very term racism uses the wrong definition of race as it's root! The wrongs of the past are not fixed by wrongs in the present.
