Here it is, two days after our most destructive storms ever. The entire city of New Orleans is under water. Hundreds of thousands of people — our people — are living in refugee camps. Alabama is seriously damaged. There are 110 confirmed dead in Mississippi, and the toll is rising. Where is the international community when we need help? Haven’t heard a peep out of them, have you? Where are they? Forget them. We need to help ourselves.

Catastrophe strikes anywhere in the world and immediately, Uncle Sam is there providing food, clothing, materials and money to help in the rebuilding efforts. Washington phone lines are flooded with pleas for aid. Now, the USA has been dealt a massive blow that has left thousands dead, many more thousands homeless, cities destroyed, and billions of dollars in damage. Where is the help from the international community when we need it. I guess aid only flows in one direction - from the USA to everyone else.

Over two dozen nations have pledged assistance regarding the devastation from Katrina. You don't hear of this from the main stream media because it doesn't fit into their political agenda of bashing the President. If you are waiting to hear this kind of news on TV or read about it in the newspapers, good luck. The only reliable source for news is the radio and the internet.
If you watched something other than Faux, you would know that the story about dozens of nations offering aid has been on-air and on-line for days, in addition to Smirk's refusal to accept the help. He'd rather let people die and suffer. It wasn't until last night, when the outrage across the country was reaching a fever pitch, that he finally relented. As usual with this administration, too little, too late.
