This story misses a key point with regard to Proposition 73. Of course, as a parent of two daughters, I would want to know if they were pregnant and seeking an abortion. But I also want whatís best for them. Above all, I want them to be safe. While I hope my daughters would come to me, even in the best families I know teens are afraid of disappointing their families. Their safety is more important than my need to know.
Proposition 73 is a dangerous initiative that puts teens at risk by making it difficult for them to get professional medical care and counseling. Government canít mandate family communication; I donít care how many laws are passed.
