Stoplights aren’t answer
Re: Holly Kunkle’s Oct. 17 letter, “Santa Rosa Road plan a bad idea”:
I agree with letter writer Holly Kunkle.
I have commuted on Santa Rosa Road for more than two years. The only congestion is during rush hour — the traffic is free-flowing at other hours of the day or evening.
Adding four more stoplights would stop this free flow. Besides, I count 14 streets connecting to Santa Rosa between Moorpark Road and Yucca. What about the other 10 intersections?
Instead of stoplights, I urge the residents and supervisors to consider adding entrance and exit lanes like there are at Barbara Drive. The supervisors should be requiring these for all of the new developments, instead of allowing dangerous straight connections like the new development just east of the Camrosa Water District offices.
By the way, almost every day I leave enough space in front of me to allow several local drivers onto Santa Rosa. Maybe if more people did this, traffic would improve for everyone.
