Re: your March 10 article, “Masry seeks to follow father on council:
Louis Masry is nothing but an opportunist.
When I lived in Moorpark in 2002, I read that he sold his home in Thousand Oaks and was buying a home in Moorpark to run for City Council. Because of people like me, he decided not to pursue this.
Now, he is selling his Moorpark home to come back to Thousand Oaks and run for our council. What has he done for us? Has he served on any major committees or volunteered his time to benefit the residents of this city? The answer is no.
He is the son of one of our finest council members. Since when does genetics make one a good council member or even entitle someone to move from city to city to run for office? Ed Masry was a lawyer who served this community well as a mediator. Louis Masry is an investment manager who is interested in lining his own pocket and ego.
I say Mr. Masry should stay in Moorpark and not waste his time here. If he wants to serve this community or any other, volunteer.
