Re: your April 5 article, “Gorbachev praises Reagan in T.O.�:

After reading this headline, I was left to wonder if I had attended the same event.

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev did make positive comments about both Ronald and Nancy Reagan, but The Star failed to mention other aspects of his talk. His speech touched on his belief that a country must look out for of all of its citizens and not just the country’s elite. He warned the United States about going at it alone as a superpower trying to impose its will on the world. More importantly, when asked what advice he had for President Bush, he replied, “I would tell him to follow the advice of the American people.� That comment was met with thunderous applause. His statement and the audience’s response to that statement should have been the headline.
