I agree. I was raised in East L.A. from 1950 to 1970. I left for the simple reason, too many people were coming in and they were illegal. It changed the area and the services. I am Irish-Italian, but raised by my Navajo-Mexican family by marriage. I have 3 sisters who are Mexican-American,. My step-mom came here illegally. She worked in the fields and eventually came to L.A. and found my father and married him. I beleive that Mexican Americans are not sure where their alligence stands. They worked very hard for their homes, education and lifestyle. But even they are being left out of the pie, because many Mexican Americans I grew up were considered middle class. We all have been left out of the pie. Today, my grown children cannot get help with affordable housing, insurance or a good paying job. Illegal Aliens get more help then the people paying the taxes in this country. Most illegal aliens will work for less and cash under the table, others will work for wages by check, but will bid for less putting the legal worker at a competitive wage war. Illegals are from all over the world. Fillipinos come here illegally, most work in the health fields, and if they are here legally, they will work for less. Chinese illegals are hidden in the food world. They work in the background, underground world of other highly paid legal Chinese employers. Yugoslavians are here illegally coming from the Canadian border into New York. My son who was in one of the state prisons said most of the imates were from the Russian and Yugoslave countries, not Mexicans.

Work ethics: I have to give credit where credit is due. Illegal Aliens have high work ethnics, they will work. My children work too, but most of this generation of American children don't want to work or work too hard and feel they are owed something. You won't see them out there picking food for our tables. I say hire the prisonors and pay them their wages for their time in jail? The big one is health care.
A woman came to my school, wanted to take a ESL class, she was 9months pregnant, then asked for a picture I.D., because her consulate told her she needed a picture I.D., to have a baby in American Hospital, she didn't attend class, only wanted the picture I.D., this is happening at all L.A.U.S.D. schools. Health is vital, but how do you stop illegals from using the system? If other agencies are turning a blind eye to the process nothing will be done. My children cannot afford health insurance, yet illegals recieve free services through whatever means available to them. Free clinics run by agencies who applied for grants, federal grants. Where are the services for my children? Should I teach my children to use the system like illegals do? What about housing? well, my children cannot get affordable housing nor help with housing. My daughter is 22, paying $1,000 a month for a bachelor apt., Yet there are illegal aliens using the HUD services. When I was a single parent, I waited on the list for 5 years for housing that never came.When I researched I found that the people on the waiting list were illegal aliens and I was out of luck and time. Who is responsible for HUD housing? Even as I speak of this, illegal aliens are still on HUD housing assistant, and I or my children are not eligible for assistant. What is fair? It is only unfair when it affects you personally, but it is also unfair when illegals use the system that is suppose to be for those who pay taxes first. Just as many are marching May 1, because they dare, Americans should march and dare as well. Change the system, change your life. Do it peacefully,non-violence, march in thousands and watch change happen.
