Fireworks publicity irresponsible

Re: your June 30 article, “Holiday crackdown:

Well, The Star did it again. Its annual front page "advertisement" for the fireworks sellers in Fillmore is irresponsible. Instead of informing people where they can buy fireworks — the bulk of which will be used where they are illegal — why not do a meaningful article about the dangers of using them: fires, burns, dismemberment, etc.?

You could not be more correct Mr. Robbins. This county and the officials that are at the helm has the audacity to blame the use of illegal fireworks on the absence or presence of a community type fireworks sponsored show. Please, the truth as we all know is to not allow the sale of personal use fireworks in the State. And we must not forget that any and all fireworks set by anyone including the Lions Club beside a building FULL of helpless and homeless animals is also irresponsible.

Thanks for your insight, sure hope you consider working for the Star or running for local government. Nice when someone "gets it"!
