Thank you! It’s about time someone wrote that this is a newspaper, and, as such, it will cover all aspects of life in this county, in this nation. The gay community is part of that life. The gay community is here to stay, whether everyone likes it or not. I see The Star as doing its job when it covers this community as part of who we all are.
I am proud to be an American, proud to be a gay man and proud to live in Ventura County. I expect nothing less of my local paper than to cover stories on all the people who live here, not just the extremists or those who think theirs is the only way to live. We are a diverse people. That is what this country is all about. I believe the only ones who can claim they are the original settlers here are native Americans.
Keep up the good work, and keep writing stories about all of us — about how we live, how we work and how we co-exist with each other.
