Where's the justification for these insane electric-rate hikes?
Our government should declare an emergency as a result of the recent record-breaking heat wave and come to the assistance of folks who will undoubtedly experience a financial hardship. This was definitely an unprecedented emergency situation. Many people lost their lives, and if you agree with the global warming scenario, there will be more of the same to come.
With the price of many necessities skyrocketing at an alarming rate, plus the gasoline and medical costs, senior citizens and families on a limited budget will be hurt the worst, while Southern California Edison continues to discount power to the largest bulk users at our expense. The public should rise up in anger and make their voices heard.
While our state government experiences a windfall in unexpected increased tax revenues, we the people always seem to be the last to benefit, if at all. Why not take some of our tax revenue and reinvest in fast-track programs to explore alternative energy sources?
Hindsight is always 20-20, they say, and it looks like our politicians need a new pair of glasses.
