Why are taxes being raised to meet the needs of Ventura two top priorities: fire and police protection? If current tax revenues are not enough, why is the city building a huge sports park to serve less than 1 percent of the residents? This park will have a one-time cost approaching $100 million and future annual costs of $3 million.
We don't need higher taxes for fire and police protection. We need a City Council to wake up, get their priorities back on track and stop wasting their current tax revenues.
