The recent announcement by our local congressman, Elton Gallegly, a Republican and a strong Bush supporter, with regard to his plans to run for re-election, left me with a stupefied sense of wonder at how such a disconnected congressman could possible think he would stand a chance at being re-elected when his voting record reflects the exact opposite of the will of his local constituents.
But wait just a minute here! Have we sent him a strong enough message yet showing just how strongly we are opposed to yet another term with a right-wing conservative Republican Bush supporter representing our interests, driven by his own personal views versus our specific directions? We told him what we want: We want out of Iraq now! He has obviously decided to ignore our instructions. Let's take out Gallegly in the next election. It’s too bad there is not some way to fire him today and send him packing.
