Money doesn’t grow on trees, but we can do a better job fiscally with our school district. We just need a school board with the nerve to make the hard decisions they were elected to do.
Recently, it has become obvious to me the Pleasant Valley School District board’s priority is really self preservation of their political careers, like most Washington politicians. I have really been sickened by some of their most recent comments: “If you don’t like it here, you have a choice. Go teach somewhere else, and “If I vote to close schools, I’m surely not going to get re-elected. It’s political suicide.
I also find it ironic that one of the board members teaches in Oxnard, which I imagine is for much better pay and benefits.
The school board members are pathetic excuses for people who are supposed to support our teachers and school district. They should quit their day jobs and go work for the Bush administration. How fitting!
I support public school teachers, firefighters, police officers and the countless many others who serve our communities. I want to see equality in compensation and recognition. Since when did Camarillo’s children fall to the bottom of the pile?
