Clearly, the lack of attention to the infrastructure of this country is seriously endangering the lives of ordinary Americans. I am personally sickened by the priorities in this country, that our so-called leaders have sold us out to corporate interests to the extent that our healthcare system is rotten, our national and international reputation is in the sewer, the very food supply is endangered by lack of any kinds of surveillance (note the recent infestation of the pet food supplies from China, which means human food is equally endangered) and now this. The very bridges that hard-working Americans rely on to get to work and school cannot be trusted because of aging structures that are desperately in need of repair.
And we are squandering billions on illegal wars and a rotten "defense" system that enriches a few at the expense of the many.
