In response to The Star’s article on immigration, in which I am portrayed as a lawbreaking business owner, I would like to set the record straight.
The way in which my remarks were presented makes me appear as though I feel that I am above the law. This is completely untrue. As far as I know, at this time, I do not have a reason to fire any employees because they have all provided proper documentation in compliance with the existing laws. When I do receive the letter, and am fully aware of its contents, I will act accordingly. It is my sincere hope that no one working for me has presented false documentation. If that is the case, it will certainly be dealt with.
