My husband and I made a trip over to Santa Paula to see what those who are active in emergency preparedness had brought together for their community. We weren't disappointed! The event was just terrific, and not just for adults but for the whole family! Teachers representing schools joined with the local Ford dealership, State Farm insurance, Kmart, the Red Cross, military representatives, search and rescue teams, the fire department, Forest Service, police — in short, all areas of community participation in disaster preparedness. There were live demonstrations for children and adults, educational displays and a lot of citizens from ready Santa Paula!

What a great day and a wonderful example of what a city can do to educate its people. We add our appreciation to all who gave their time and effort for this event.
