In the 10 years I have known Tom Holden, I've admired him for his integrity, courage and values. Tom was born in Oxnard. He started his business in Oxnard. He is raising his family in Oxnard. His heartfelt passion is to help Oxnard be one of California's best places to live.
A fine example of Tom's leadership can be seen in his support of the gang injunction. He helped give power to law enforcement to make Oxnard safer for everyone. It established a precedent in California that put Oxnard on the cutting edge of overcoming gang violence. He actively supported efforts to bring faith communities into a cooperative relationship with law enforcement, so young people are encouraged to find attractive alternatives to gang membership. Every aspect of his leadership has served to make Oxnard better for all.
I strongly support Tom's candidacy for another term as mayor. His vision is clear. His commitment is strong. His connections throughout the community could not be better.
