My other new favorite band this week is Islands and the album is "A Sleep & A Forgetting" and it's on Anti, an Epitaph alias. Why are there so many great bands from Canada? Don't know - but here's another one. This is Islands' fourth album since 2006, thus, making them extremely prolific. Frontman Nick Thorburn had a falling out with Miss Take - bad for him, good for us and we have this dreamy, sad album with stellar vocals to check out - an effort they aptly peg as doom wop - gotta love that, or what? "Cold Again" will live in your head for daze, among the other beautiful bummers smartly done.
