Big hair? Check. Big voice? Certainly. Big deal? To the millions who bought Taylor Dayne records over the years, you betcha. The vehicle for that hair and voice, a fixture on the dance charts in the late '80s and early '90s, will roll into the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for a Saturday night performance.Saturday's show, "Tell It to My Heart: Up Close and Personal with Taylor Dayne," directed by Steve Rothman, is a concert along with an opportunity for Dayne to talk candidly about her trials and triumphs as a pop star. "Star Search" winning singer Jake Simpson will provide backup vocals.
Like hitting a home run in your first major league at bat, Dayne's debut album, "Tell It to My Heart," went to No. 1 -- in fact, Dayne's first three albums were all huge hits and she has released nine Top 20 hits, sold more than 75 million units and earned three Grammy nominations.
