No Joy has a new EP - that would be "Negaverse" and it's on Mexican Summer. This could be the Apathetic People's Party house band if they bothered enough to do anything let alone hit the "play" button. This is thrashy garage rock from out of the timewarp - a perfect opener for the Japandroids. As they were talking about drones on MSNBC with the sound off, this was the perfect soundtrack, yet there is as advertised, no joy, but also no hooks and not much more than droning shoe gazer music - and probably not even checkered Vans.
