The very prolific Norwegian Ane Brun has a new release, "It All Starts With One" and it's on (PIAS) American. This one is from late last year and is the eighth album for the high brow singer/songwriter who now lives in Stockholm. It's pretty much just Brun's voice with sparse accompaniment - she's toured with a string section in the past. No barrel of laughs - much like Fiona Apple or Tori Amos - Brun could provide the soundtrack to a black and white British film on TCM with the volume turned down. Once again, gotta love that cover...
