Wyoming? Home of the most evil living man, DICK Cheney, but now there's finally something cool out of the Rectangle State - that would be smart guy punk rock from Teenage Bottlerocket. Their latest is "Freak Out!" (no relation to the ancient Mothers of Invention debut) and it's on Fat Wreck Chords. Chainsaw guitars meet snarky and often hilarious lyrics - how else could anyone so ably describe dead guys and comic book geeks on "Necrocomicon"? These guys compare favorably with the "Don't Back Down" era Queers and thus, my new favorite band this week.
