There's a new Hives - the good ones not the itchy variety - their latest is Lex Hives - I don't know what label they're on - they arted me right out of any sort of understanding trying to decipher the album liner notes - good thing they rock. And they do - in glorious black and white - imagine a Swedish version of the Ramones. They're all scream-y and shout-y and sort of the bratty answer to the unasked question: What if Eddie Haskell had a punk band? No one's gonna write a term paper on the significance of the album opener, "Come On!" That evidently is Swedish, for "1-2-3-4!" They're fun and they speak better English than we do and "These Spectacles Reveal the Nostalgics" rocks extra.
