Rock 'n' Roll Call: The Lumineers - The Lumineers

The Lumineers

The new Lumineers album is easy to remember, it's self-titled and it's on Dualtone. It's a three-piece out of Denver - two dudes and a chick cello player from Craigslist doing the low tech Americana folk rock thing - good - there's never too much of this stuff. In the same vein as the Avett Brothers and Shovels and Rope, the heartfelt vocals of Wes Schultz makes this band go as he has this sort of earnest Todd Snider meets Joe Walsh thing going on. And when your girlfriend compares you to the "Dead Sea," that's less than damning by faint praise and is probably not a good thing.
