Balloons, food, drink and rock 'n' roll -- clearly a cultural landslide, and it's all coming to Santa Paula at the fifth annual Citrus Classic Balloon Festival this weekend. The balloons are the colorful, giant-size, hot-air variety -- not the type popped to watch spoiled kids cry in preparation for the real world. It's fun and a reason to go to Santa Paula, where you can appreciate the agricultural heritage before it all gets paved.
There's music both days. Caught Red Handed are the draw tonight for those with a drawl and an affinity for country music. On Saturday, the lineup is a solid cross-section of the best rock bands in the 805 including three rockin' dudes and their respective bands, Kyle Hunt, Zachary James and Jeff Hershey, not to mention the Army of Freshmen, all those Shoemaker Brothers and the reunion of Durango 95, featuring all four originals.
