Anya Marina's latest is "Felony Flats" and it's on Atlantic. Not only is that a good name for the next new jail, it offers a steamy and sexy beginning with "Body Knows Best," the theme song for those at the bar, assessing the scamabilities even as they try to drink each other cute. Marina has that little coquettish Betty Boop voice that at other times, evolves into that whispery, steamy voice that could make a statue of J. Edgar Hoover sweat, and make any sucker eager to crawl over broken glass just to hear her say, "Beat it, buster." Marina is from everywhere but now is yet another good one out of Portland and has had her songs all over TV and even opened for famous rock stars such as Rhett Miller, clearly an upgrade from those unfunny comedians he used to inflict on his choir at Largo. Anyway, Marina is clearly on the upward spiral with her bluesy rock gems.

He is the tall guy lurking in the back of all the local rock shows.
