Rock 'n' Roll Call: Scissor Sisters - Magic Hour

Magic Hour

No matter what time it is, don't run with the Scissor Sisters - their new one is "Magic Hour" and it's on Casablanca Records - a label named evidently for that sweaty African hot spot in Morocco and/or the great movie, Casablanca. Evidently, these are lullabies loved by lesbians, but "The L Word" is long gone, yet we're left with this bouncy techno pop. Several of these tunes are quite contagious - your feet will know what to do when your ears hear "'Baby Come Home," "Only the Horses," and evidently, this week's gay party anthem, "Let's Have A Kiki." I'm lame - I only remember Kiki Vandeweghe, a forward for UCLA from 30+ years ago but what a great song - and a fun band.
