What's worse a rat or a toadie - or in Johnny Rocco's world view, a dumbbell or a wise guy? Who knows but the Toadies - the band - are great - the kiss asses at work? Screw them. Anyway, another great Texas band, the Toadies, have a new one, the self fulfilling threat, "Play Rock Music," and that they do - and how. It's kick-ass bluesy guitar rock - the Toadies and ZZ Top would be a great double bill - anyway, as I was trying to write this, suddenly and unconsciously my fist started pumping - fortunately, I didn't have a Zippo or a calendar. Powerful foot candy to the highest order - the opener, "Rattler's Revival" sets the tone and doesn't let up. So why can't Lone Star State politicians keep up with its musicians?
