Wherever he is, the legendary Jimmy Adams, one of the nicest people ever, is no doubt doing what he does without any g's. That could involve laughin', singin' or just trippin'. Adams, a Texan who made his mark in California but never lost his accent, died too young at 62 on July 26 in Kentucky during outpatient surgery to repair a detached retina. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy Adams. A memorial concert/jam session will be held Saturday night at the Plaza Playhouse Theater in Carpinteria.
Originally, the gig was going to be a Jonathan McEuen show. Now it's been greatly expanded to include as many of the available "and Friends" folks from the countless Jimmy Adams and Friends gigs held over the years. We can all afford this free show.
