Greetings Everyone,
I thought I would catch up and let everyone know the latest automotive news! I was fortunate enough to be sent to NADA (National Auto Dealers Association) to learn the latest of the industry of which I so much love. It looks as though you the consumers are more so than ever utilizing the internet for your next new and used auto purchase. It was found by J.D. Power that 67.5% of new-vehicle buyers use the internet to help in their buying process. It was also found that about 80% of used-vehicle buyers use the internet to find their next vehicle. With such stats it's no wonder so many of you are using our Star Cars website to find your next auto!
So what is on the horizon for your online shopping experience you ask?
Well we are finding that reality will be coming full circle. The auto manufacturers are adding virtual walk-a-rounds to their sites as interactive programs that allow you the consumer to customize your next car on-the-fly. Many sites such as Toyota and GMC already have these options and make the overall internet experience a good one. After all, you the consumer do most of your new-vehicle homework on the manufacturer or dealers websites.
A large factor in your vehicle buying is what we call the Buying funnel. Many of you key up when first considering a car (4-6 months out) by seeing the national ad campaigns. These are what you find on cable and radio most often. Looking at the other end of the buying funnel is where we stand. Those final weeks of your buying decision you know the best place to find the lowest price is online and in newspaper print! So, let me be the one to say thank you.
One thing I found interesting is third party sites such as ours is still more popular for shopping. Reason being is the same as why we all shop on eBay or Shopzilla. These sites give multiple options so you not only find where your next vehicle may be but also get a good idea of fair market value of the vehicle as well.
I again offer my industry knowledge to anyone that has questions or concerns on any potential vehicle purchase. I have spent years in parts, service and sales so I can give you insight on any of these fields. I feel part of my duty having this blog is to be here for you the consumer because without you there wouldn’t be a need for me.
Cheers, Lance
