Jim Benkert of Westlake and Cliff Farrar of Buena moved up one spot on the Ventura County all-time wins list for coaches.
With Westlake's victory over Simi Valley on Thursday, Benkert improved his career record to 163-67-5, tying him with former St. Bonaventure coach Jon Mack for first place. Mack's career record is 163-47-1.
In his first season at Buena after a long career at Nordhoff, Farrar tied retired Rio Mesa coach John Reardon for third place on the wins list. Farrar's career record is 154-101-2. Reardon was 154-119-4. Farrar has led Buena to a 4-3 record this season, including a 35-10 victory over San Marcos last Friday.
