Seraphs move on

Logan Meyer threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns, Patrick Hall ran for 104 yards and a touchdown and the defense and special teams made big contributions as the top-seeded Seraphs defeated visiting Newbury Park, 38-14, in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division playoffs.

"We're getting back in that playoff mode," said linebacker Dylan Davis.

Running back Cameron Roberson ran for 105 yards and a score on 17 carries for Newbury Park (7-4) before leaving the game in the third quarter with a knee injury.

Having cleared the 6-foot, 205-pound obstacle that was Cameron Roberson and a surprise cameo at wide receiver for Newbury Park senior Chris Brown, St. Bonaventure (10-1) will have a new hurdle in next week's quarterfinals -- the nearly 150-mile trek north to Paso Robles.

The Seraphs have already accomplished a similar feat, having won 35-14 at Atascadero on Sept. 12.

Why does Bonny need to travel next week ? How is home field determined ?

Higher seeded teams get first round home games, but aren't given home field throughout the playoffs.

For second round games and beyond, home field is determined by the sites of the previous round. Since St. Bonaventure and Paso Robles both had home games Friday, the site of next week's game was determined by coin flip, which St. Bonaventure lost.

If Pacifica had won at Paso Robles, the Tritons would have hosted the Seraphs next week.

I would probably use this info mate, but where do you get this one?

Instead of just watching, it is possible to forget you are even in a different place.
