Larry Edwards is the most likely the worst coach ever to blow a whistle. He is responsible for the defunct Calabasas High School Football program. A few things to note under Edward's watch:

1) School Endures 42 game losing streak
2) As other programs get stronger, Calabasas gets weaker and continues to run the same plays it did 25 years ago.
3) Larry Edwards gets caught sleeping with players mother (true)
4) Larry Edwards withholds letters from Universities inquiring about student/athletes (illegal)
5) Edwards is ANTI-SEMITE
6) Larry Edwards has LOST MORE GAMES THEN ANYONE ELSE IN THE HISTORY OF LOS ANGELES SPORTS (pro, college, high school)

look at demographics of the city. all corn-fed white boys are moving out and middle eastern types are moving in. go to calabasas promenade and sit and observe. last time i checked they dont play football in the holy land

Sounds like larry is a typical high school coach to me. These are non-paying jobs(after you deduct their expenses) that there is a ready supply of applicants for, eager to feel better about themselves, bossing, and controlling young athletes. I have seen all-conference players quit, mid season, rather than put up with their arrogant, self promoting high school coach, for one more day.

As a Calabasas 4 year player from '81-84 My experience was first-hand. What a complete loser! As a coach, as a teacher and above all, as a man. What talent and drive we had was utterly destroyed by this "man". Did I mention what a awful teacher he was? Or how he surrounded himself with young girls as his aids. Put out or get out was his policy. This loser has harmed so many young people in countless ways. So what did they do? Throw him out on his ass? Nope, a promotion to athletic director... guess it was better than having him coach. I'm still friends with many of my teammates. I challenge you to find one player who doesn't detest the man.

Larry Edwards single handedly destroyed my college carrier before it started. I was the only one in CHS history to hold TDs, rushing yards u name it. He pretty much black balled me with colleges because I tried to transfer to rival agoura. He sucked as a mentor, coach, and teacher. I tried to leave my senior year because the program had shrunk to 15 players, anyone would have done the same especially if they put up the number I did. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm the one who he held 74 collegiate letter from. But revenge is sweet, I have a son now who plays for a great school in the marmonte league and he is a RB just like I was. So coach Edwards if you r reading this WATCH OUT FOR THE NEW #34, he's stronger, faster, quicker than I was. I've waited 20 years for this. Guess who I am.

hey its damon riggins!!! damon was without a doubt the best running back i have ever seen inmy high school career....he had the quickness, speed, agility and "nose for the hole" that all great running backs possess. i know first hand what larry edwards did to damon....(hide college letters of recruitment, black ball him with other schools should he transfer, power trip over his superior athlete by keeping him 'down" and submissive. its ashame what he did to you damon, however, you should get solace knowing that this MAN IS A CAREER LOSER. Riggins, a two-year starter at running back and safety, wanted out of the Coyotes' three-legged program. Calabasas' roster had dwindled from 35 players to eight at one point this summer, and Riggins wanted to use his deceptive moves to get out of Calabasas once and for all.

"From what I heard, (my teammates) thought I let them down, and I don't blame them for being mad at me," Riggins said.

But Riggins was soon back in the Coyote huddle. Agoura and Calabasas are members of the Las Virgenes Unified School District, and Riggins failed to meet requirements for an intra-district transfer. After 2 1/2 weeks of practice with Agoura, he was sent back to Calabasas on Sept. 6. The team--then 12 players strong--voted to accept him back.

"They just told me they were glad to have me," Riggins said.

Riggins, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound senior, was ineligible for Calabasas' opening game Sept. 7, a 30-13 loss to Bishop Diego, because he had not participated in 10 practices. He regained his eligibility last week and opened the season with a stunning performance.

Riggins rushed for 208 yards in 19 carries, scored on touchdown runs of 76 and 49 yards, intercepted a pass. In addition, he had a 96-yard kickoff return nullified by a holding penalty. With Riggins back in the fold, the Coyotes, all 15 of them, defeated St. Genevieve, 28-14.

"Before the game, I couldn't wait to get out there," Riggins said. "I knew my teammates were questioning whether I was going to take it seriously, and I wanted to show them I'm out to give 100%."

Riggins, who rushed for 660 yards as a junior, was one of the few bright spots in a decaying program that was 1-9 last season and 4-16 the past two.

Of the 35 players who participated in Calabasas' spring drills, only eight appeared for the opening day of practice in August.

Riggins was one of the defectors. He had moved to Agoura, a former Frontier League rival, pending approval of his transfer. Agoura moved this season to the Marmonte League.

"I wasn't getting along with some people at Calabasas, and I was making new friends at Agoura," Riggins said. "It seemed to be a better situation."

Riggins initially strained his relationship with his Calabasas teammates last spring when he was indefinitely suspended from the team because of an on-campus incident. His dash west further weakened the relationship.

"I was discouraged, like just about everybody else, but we knew he'd be an asset," said senior Ron Adelman, Calabasas' quarterback and a team captain. "When we met to decide about taking Damon back, we had only 13 people on the team. If we didn't take him back, we were at risk of not having a team, and that just wasn't worth it."

Riggins sought to solidify his support among his teammates with a strong showing Friday as a running back and linebacker.

"I felt I had to help out and let them know that I want to play for them," Riggins said. "I wish I had been able to help out for the first game."

That thought wasn't lost on Adelman.

"If we had had him the first game, we'd be 2-0," he said.

The win was Agoura’s first in league play this season and helped it retain the Las Virgenes Cup for the 13th consecutive season."

All the momentum had flowed to the Calabasas sideline at this point, but instead of kicking the ball deep, the Coyotes squibbed the ensuing kickoff to midfield. Agoura was able to score just two minutes later, when Poutier scrambled for a 16 yard touchdown to make the score 28-21.

Wow what a game but really...did you think that Calabasas could muster up a winning streak? I was at the game and it was a typical Edwards called game running the same plays over and over again.

Sorry kids feel bad for you seems like you have a really good team this year!

My son hates him as a coach - I dislike him as a man - and I don't why the school has kept as an educator. Kids don't get their recruiting letters, my son didn't and the college called me to ask why he didn't respond. Take that to the bank.

Year One of the grand Marmonte League football experiment was officially completed Friday night.

And just as everyone predicted, the race for the league championship was a gripping, absorbing thriller as state powers St. Bonaventure, Westlake and Oaks Christian....

But pity the five other teams that have the misfortune of being in this super league.

As much as we're transfixed on the best qualities of adding private school powers Oaks Christian and St. Bonaventure to the Marmonte this season - the drama and stimulation of watching them go toe-to-toe with each other and Westlake and Moorpark - we might be overlooking a sad, unfortunate reality in the process.

And that is the huge, impossible-to-overcome gap that exists between the upper half of the league and the lower half.

So ask yourself this Larry? Are you a happy many? If your ego was any bigger you would probably need an even bigger belly to balance you out!

To all the kids who worked hard you deserve better and to all the parents leave Larry Edwards program now or just regret it like many parents before you I have meet them and you can even see them in the above posts some 20 years later.

Larry Edwards single handedly ruined my hopes of playing college football at a 4 year school. He turned my junior year from a breakout season to a breakdown season. He constantly put me down in practice for not doing things his idiotic way and he wont listen to anyone but his own arrogant self. He made me run after practice for catching touchdowns because i didnt catch the ball "his way"...hes the Adolf Hitler of football coaches. I only scored 3 touchdowns my junior year and he got on my case after all of them, not once did he say a positive thing. My senior year this season, we were 3-7 and the administration at Calabasas is too blind to understand that 3-7 is NOT A SUCCESSFUL SEASON. Under the right coaching we would be in the playoffs right now. Larry you have no connection with the players and the fact that your too idiotic to comprehend the Tony Franklin system just proves that your a horrible coach who still tries to run the same plays from 25 years ago. YOUR GOLDEN OLD "31 DIVE PASS" PLAY FROM THE VIETNAM ERA GOT OUR BEST PLAYER CONCUSSED! You reverse the passing tree in our system for what reason? We ran the Tony Franklin system under Lance Martin two years ago so obviously most of the program understood the terminology, and just because your too dumb to wrap your head around the system (which is taught in Pop Warner) we have to change it for you? Edwards is a horrible coach!! I currently attend CHS and we have some talent in Bick and Zion and Varonas but because of the coaching those players won't be getting a scholarship to play anywhere. You say you played college football as a WR probaly back then anyone could. Please someone make a change and save Tyson Jones a guy who has a ton of potential and may be our first college recruit since alex Henderson and Ezra Butler. His coaching techniques are horrible and coming from a city where the hometown highschool won the state championship twice in 6 years and they didn't have one D-1 player but the coaching makes a diffrence. Also over the summer the strength coach left to go to T.O and Edwards said he "tried" to get him back and he was a personal favorite of the team. Our J.V team is really good but knowing Edwards he is going to mess it all up.
