Compiled from staff reports

Westlake 58, Knight 8 (FINAL)
Tavior Mowry rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, helping Westlake jump out to a 27-0 lead en route to a 58-8 victory. The senior tailback, recovering from an injured ankle that kept him out of the Warriors' final regular-season game, finished with 199 yards on 21 carries and scored four times.

Oaks Christian 34, Saugus 8 (FINAL)
Oaks Christian School held visiting Saugus to just 90 total yards in the first half and was sparked by a 63-yard interception return for a touchdown by Ishmael Adams, which helped lead the Lions to a 34-8 victory in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Divison playoffs on Friday night. Oaks Christian advances to the second round, where the Lions will play at Marmonte League opponent Thousand Oaks.

St. Bonaventure 44, Redondo Union 14 (FINAL)
There wasn't any question of whether St. Bonaventure High was going to win Friday's CIF-Southern Section Northern Division first-round matchup with Redondo Union. It just became a matter of who scored the touchdowns. There turned out to be plenty of them to go around, as five St. Bonaventure players found the end zone in a 44-14 demolition of Redondo Union at Ventura College.

Moorpark 27, Mira Costa 17 (FINAL)
It may be the fifth seed from its own league, but Moorpark High continued to look like an impact player in postseason Friday night. The Musketeers spotted Bay League champion Mira Costa a one-touchdown lead after the game's opening series, then rode strong play by quarterback Grant Rohach and their defensive unit to a 27-17 victory in the opening round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division playoffs at Mira Costa High.

Grace Brethren 48, Notre Dame 19 (FINAL)
The tag team of quarterback Max Leffler and receiver Jack Gilliland made sure Grace Brethren's season would continue with a 48-19 win over visiting Notre Dame/Riverside in the first round of CIF-Southern Section East Valley Division playoffs. Grace Brethren hosts Paraclete next week at 7:30 p.m. at Moorpark College.

Camarillo 23, Dos Pueblos 22 (FINAL)
The Camarillo High football team slipped out of Scott O'Leary Stadium with a CIF-Southern Section first-round Western Division playoff win over Dos Pueblos on Friday, literally and figuratively. The host Chargers (7-4) missed a potential game-winning 33-yard field goal with 23 seconds to go as the ball slipped off of the tee, giving the Scorpions (8-3) a 23-22 comeback victory.

Nordhoff 21, Verbum Dei 0 (FINAL)
Despite having never been in this position, Nordhoff High's football team looked very comfortable as the top-seeded team in the CIF-Southern Section Northwest Division playoffs, rolling to a 21-0 victory over Verbum Dei on Friday at Ojai Valley Community Stadium. Junior Isaac Seymour scored all three touchdowns for the Rangers, scoring on runs of 1, 12 and 5 yards on his way to 160 yards rushing on 25 carries.

Thousand Oaks 28, Quartz Hill 21 (FINAL)
It looked bleak for the Thousand Oaks High football team on Friday night, but when it came time to make a big play to win the game, the Lancers made it. Thousand Oaks rallied from a seven-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to knock off Quartz Hill 28-21 Friday night in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Division playoffs. Richard Mullaney, who finished with 11 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown, was unstoppable all night.

Atascadero 13, Ventura 6 (FINAL)
Tanner Thompson and Deonte Barnes combined for 249 yards and two touchdown as Atascadero slipped by Ventura, 13-6, in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Western Division football playoffs on Friday night at Memorial Stadium. "We just needed one more break," said Ventura coach Brad Steward.

Paso Robles 21, Oxnard 6 (FINAL)
Terrell Watson may have gotten his yards Friday night, but it was the Paso Robles High football team that came up with all the big plays. The Bearcats claimed six turnovers, and despite scoring just one offensive touchdown during a steady, slight rain, defeated Oxnard 21-6 at War Memorial Stadium to move on to the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Western Division playoffs.

South Torrance 41, Santa Paula 10 (FINAL)
A couple of dropped passes here, an untimely turnover there. It ultimately came down to the little things for Santa Paula High on Friday night in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Northwest Division football playoffs. The 41-10 loss to No. 2- seeded South Torrance was actually more competitive than the score indicated, as the Cardinals made some early mistakes that they could never recover from.

Arroyo Grande 27, Rio Mesa 20 (FINAL)
On the wrong side of field position, Rio Mesa lost to Arroyo Grande, 27-20, in a Western Division first-round playoff game at home. Christian Crichton scored twice, including the game-winning TD with 31.8 seconds left in the third quarter, for Arroyo Grande (9-2). It didn't hurt that seven of Arroyo Grande's 10 possessions began at its own 40 or better. On the flip side, Rio Mesa started eight drives at its own 20 or worse.

Centennial 67, Oak Park 48 (FINAL)
The Oak Park High football team (6-5) came into the CIF-Southern Section Northwest Division playoffs averaging 198 yards per game on the ground. The Eagles surpassed that total against Centennial on Friday night, as they totaled 258 yards on the ground. But they ran into the Apaches, (6-5), who ran for 462 yards on the ground, and defeated the Eagles 67-48. The 115 points set the Ventura County record for highest combined score.

If the Oaks Christian School football team can avoid an upset loss on Friday, it will emerge at the top seed out of the Marmonte League heading into the CIF-Southern Section playoffs.
Preparing for the strong possibility of a three-way atop the final league standings, the league's athletic directors held coin flips among Oaks Christian, St. Bonaventure and Westlake during Tuesday's league meeting. Oaks Christian garners the top seed, St. Bonaventure would go No. 2, and Westlake _ the defending Northern Division champion _ would get the league's No. 3 seed.
The seeding is significant, largely because the No. 1 seed will likely end up on the opposite side of the Northern Division bracket from the league's No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. Thus, St. Bonaventure and Westlake may be headed to a rematch in the playoffs' semifinals.
Oaks Christian, as the league's top seed, would also seem headed to the overall No. 1 seed in the Northern Division.
The Marmonte League receives five playoff entries in this year's playoffs. Thousand Oaks and Moorpark will match up Friday at Thousand Oaks to determine the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds.
Oaks Christian plays host to Agoura in the regular season finale. St. Bonaventure plays host to Royal at Buena High, while Westlake travels to Calabasas

Oaks Christian School football coach Bill Redell announced on Friday that he will return for a 12th season as the team's coach next fall.

Rio Mesa 42, Pacifica 21 (FINAL)
A win over host Pacifica promoted Rio Mesa in postion to win the Pacific View League championship on Nov. 12. If Rio Mesa (5-4, 3-1 Pacific View) beats rival Camarillo on the road, it could finish the regular season in a three-way tie for the league title with Camarillo. A coin flip would decide which two automatically qualify for the Western Division playoffs. The odd team out, although co-champion, would have to wait to see whether it receives an at-large selection. Marcus Alford and Tanner Wrout each ran for two touchdowns for Rio Mesa.

Oak Park's High's high-octane offense came to a screeching halt on Friday night as visiting Fillmore beat the Eagles 13-7 in a Tri-Valley League game on homecoming for the Eagles. Oak Park, averaging 28 points a game over the past six games, was pressured and blitzed by the undermanned Flashes all night and were close to being shut out, save a late fourth-quarter score.

Nordhoff 27, Carpinteria 14 (FINAL)
Host Carpinteria was up 14-7 early in the second quarter and it was a one-possession game until the final nine minutes, but Rangers running back Isaac Seymour kept gobbling up yards and the Warriors kept turning it over, as Nordhoff remained perfect with a 27-14 win at Memorial Stadium. Seymour was a workhorse, rushing a whopping 35 times for 213 yards and three touchdowns. During one drive in the third quarter, he carried the ball 11 times in 13 plays.

Buena 45, Santa Barbara 0 (FINAL)

Thousand Oaks 52, Calabasas 26 (FINAL)

Two weeks ago, Moorpark beat Royal 31-0, to give the Musketeers a combined 66-0 margin against the two Simi Valley schools. Simi Valley fell to 1-8, with a 1-7 mark in league play.

Camarillo 42, Channel Islands 6 (FINAL)
