Was Sonny Bono Murdered?

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

Apparently this guy named Dave Martin thinks Sonny Bono was really murdered. He says that Sonny Bono really didn't run into a tree. That he was beaten to death by assasins and the whole skiing into a tree was a coverup. Bono was killed when he discovered a corruption in Washington. Apparently, he was getting in the way of drug dealers and they had enough.

It seems a little far fetched but if you want to check out more, here is the link to the article.

President Obama Sends Letter to Iranian President

A British newspaper the Guardian has revealed that President Obama and his team are drafting a letter to send to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It is in response to a congratulations letter that Ahmadinejad sent to Obama on November 6.

Guess Obama might really come through with some of those things he talked about when he campaigned. This is the most honest looking one, talking to leaders that the previous administration would not.

Super Bowl Prediction: Pittsburg by 10

Hate to say it, but yes the evil empire known as the Pittsburgh Steelers will win the Superbowl on Sunday. Going for their sixth championsihp, the Steelers are led by their secret weapon, Troy Polamalu and his hair. The long locks are all the Steelers are going to need to stop the Kurt Warner - Larry Fitzgerald connection. The spread has Pittsburgh by 7 but I think they'll get 10.

Things To Think About on Tuesday

Just have a couple articles to link to.

First, there's been all this talk about releasing the prisoners from Guantanamo Bay, well what about all the prisoners held at Bagrams Air Base. The prison is located at the American base in Aghanistan. There are reported to be about 600 prisoners there who if released, will almost immediately return to fighting. So what do we do about them?

And LA Time's op-ed discusses a new way to handle the state budget. The article talks about a hard cap spending budget. It was introduced by Republicans but has been gaining little traction in the Democrat controlled legislature.

Obama Speaks To Russian President

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

Near the end of the Bush's term, U.S.-Russia relations were starting to sour. It mostly began over the missile defense shield that we wanted to put in Eastern Europe. Russia saw this as a threat to them because the missiles would be in their backyard. Then it got uglier after the war between Russia and Georgia over the South Ossetian region.

Luckily things have simmered. Today it was reported that Russian President Dmity Medvedev spoke with President Barack Obama. It was reported to be a fairly short conversation in which Medvedev wished Obama good luck.

It is great to see that both have started off on such good ground. Both Medvedev and Obama seem to be bright young men who can offer each of their countries a bright future. Now lets hope they can. As we can see, Bush and Putin started out to be good pals. It was a rocky relationship though at times and the same can happen with the current two leaders.

Obama's Transformation

In this video, recorded in 2004, Puff Daddy interviews Barack Obama. This was back when he was running for the Senate seat. Before he was even running for President. It is a pretty good classic interview.

After you watch that interview, watch this video.  It is from the night of the inauguration. President Obama sure transformed from just another politician to the omega zion.

It's Official!

Will The Chargers Trade LT This Offseason?

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

This season was one of ups and downs for the San Diego Chargers. Their main weapon, Ladainian Tomlinson was not at the caliber that we had been used to. It was mainly from the injury that he ended with last season that never really allowed LT to get back to his old ways. During the final game of the season though, the LT all Charger fans knew returned. Unfortunately, the injuries also returned and LT was sidelined again for another post season.

So what should management for the Chargers do? Trade him or keep him.

I say keep him. He's been consistent up to this season. He is still the heart of the team and losing him will set the team back more than move it forward.

But then you have idiots like Michael Blunda who say to cut LT so that you can free up salary cap room to resign Darren Sproles. I like Sproles and all, but he is no LT and everyone knows it. And while all this discussion about cutting LT has been going on, don't think no one has taken notice. General Manager of the Chargers Alex Spanos personally called LT to say that nothing is happening nor will it for atleast some time.

Championship Weekend Picks

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

So if your here looking for advice on who to pick for this weekends NFL games then you are probably in the wrong place. I don't want to disapoint though so here are my picks.

I'm taking Pittsburgh in the AFC. It will be a slugfest to say the least and the third time this season these two teams have played. Baltimore will bring its hard hitting defense, but Big Ben will prevail and move on to the Super Bowl.

In the NFC, I'm going with Philadelphia. Really have just been waiting for Arizona to self destruct and I can see it happening this game. Donovan has been here many a times and now its time to punch his ticket and go back to the big game.

Closing Guantanamo, But Where Do The Prisoners Go?

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

With Barack Obama's inauguration only days away, we are going to see what kind of change he plans to implement almost immediately. Throughout the campaign Obama continually called on closing Guantanamo Bay Prison facility that is used to hold terror suspects. The place is also the site where crimes against humanity might have been committed, further urging its closure. Earlier this week it came out that Obama plans to close the prison facility on his first full day in office.

So if Guantanamo is closed, where do we send the prisoners?

There are a couple possibilities. Attorney General nominee Eric Holder says that some of the prisoners should be tried in U.S. courts. Maybe we could send the rest back to those secret CIA prisons abroad. If not, the rest will be sent to prison facilities here in the U.S. It is even being suggested that some be sent to Camp Pendleton.

Wonder how Americans will react. One such American Claudja Van Orden was quoted by MSNBS saying "Yes I would be concerned. I would like them to be in Guantanamo Bay and not here. Leave them there." [Gitmo Detainees Coming to Pendleton?] Looks like Claudja does not want much of Obama's changes.

Here in Ventura County, we have a similar situation. Ours though deals with a hospital for prisoners on the outskirts of Camarillo. Activists are complaining about criminal Americans. Just imagine those same activists if the government were going to hold international terrorist at the facility.

So America, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME CHANGE?

Global Warming Sucks!

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

So it is January 14, the middle of winter, and half the nation is freezing. That part of the nation that is freezing is definetly not the west coast though. For the last several days, global warming has taken effect and we've had above average temperatures. Averaging in the 70's this week, its been a warm one.

Wheres my cold weather? And I know its California so there isn't a whole lot of cold weather to go around, but give me something in the 50's. Atleast then I can put on a jacket to stay warm. I'm just more of a fan of slightly cold weather than warm weather in general. But I guess thats what I get for living in Southern California. The place where everyone wishes they could live because of the great weather.

In the end though, I still think global warming sucks.

Could USC Beat Florida?

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

usc football.jpgAll week we have been discussing the serious matter of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza strip. Well I think we should tone it down now and move over to sports. On Thursday, Florida beat Oklahoma 24-14 for the National Championship. On New Years Day, USC dismantled Penn State 38-24.

Now the real question, could USC beat Florida?

I am going out with a resounding YES. The way they played all season, except for their one loss to Oregon State, were superb. Not to say it is the best team USC has ever had, but it might be the best team in the NCAA this season.

I also think that USC should place one SEC team in its schedule each season. The SEC plays some real hard nose football and by playing a team from the SEC they can really prove to everyone that they are who they say they are.

Blago Wins: Senate to Seat Roland Burris

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

On Monday Roland Burris, the pick to fill president-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat, was turned away from the Senate chambers because he did not have the proper signatures to take the seat. Pretty much Burris was missing the signature of the Illinois Secretary of State. So after a couple meetings and some strings being pulled, it has been reported that Roland Burris will be allowed to take a seat as a Senator. Much of the about face was reported to be because Obama pressured Harry Reid and other top Democrats to seat Burris.

Propaganda War Exposed

Again the propaganda war continues with no end in sight and the LA Times picked up on it as well. Here are two articles they published in todays paper.

Arab Media Portray Gazans as Courageous Victims

Israeli Media Steer Clear of the Gore

Israel Tries To Defend Shelling of UN School

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

I really don't know why Israel keeps holding interviews with Al Jazeera television. In this video and the last one I posted each Israeli spokesperson gets tongue tied and Al Jazeera pretty much roasts them.

In the video below the spokesperson talks about the UN school that was shelled. She says that Hamas fighters had been launching rockets from that vicinity. The host gets her though when he asks if the Hamas fighters had been killed and she does not have an answer.

Gaza Strip Media War Continues

Ok, so maybe your one of those people who really doesn't believe in propaganda and conspiracy theories. After you watch this interview you might. Its between Israeli spokesman Dan Gillerman and Al Jazeera host Shihab Rattansi. They each takes shots at the other side, Al Jazeera host indicating war crimes may have been committed by Israel. Israeli spokesman shoots back by saying what did Hamas expect after they themselves had been rocketing innocence in Israel.

The best part is when the Israeli spokesman doesn't know what to say so he looks off screen for an answer.

The Conflicts Propaganda War

Let's compare the propaganda war being waged between Israeli website Jerusalem Post and Pro Palestinian website Al Jazeera. Both are screen shots taken at 11:09 PM Western Time on January 6.

On the Jerusalem post site it is about CONFRONTING HAMAS: Day 11. Sounds like something that Fox News would come up with. It also shows a picture of US and Israeli diplomats next to each other as to show strength and unity between the two.

Here on the Al Jazeera site we also have a picture of Condoleza Rice but this time she is backing an Egyptian ceasefire. Also to get the emotions going they have a picture of a kid with blood on her face. Not very comforting. And for a slogan Al Jazeera went with WAR ON GAZA.

Chargers Win

Share: Share on Facebook submit to reddit StumbleUpon Toolbar

On Saturday a miraculous thing happened in San Diego. After four quarters of hard nose football, when it looked like the San Diego Chargers were on the edge of defeat, they got up off the bench and hit a field goal to tie the game. In overtime the team became anchored by the smallest guy on the team, Daren Sproles, who ended up scoring the game winning touchdown in overtime. No field goals to win, the Chargers went for the endzone and with that capped off an exciting game with a 23-17 overtime win.

Next week the Chargers take on the Pittsburg Steelers who they lost to by one point the last time these two played.
