Is Congresswoman Jane Harman Corrupt?

On the front page of Tuesday's New York Times was an article titled "Lawmaker Is Said To Have Agreed To Aid Lobbyist." It hit pretty close to home considering it was about Congressmember Jane Harman (D-Los Angeles) and how she was caught on wiretaps by the NSA. In the conversation Harman allegedly told lobbyist that she would help them if they would help her. Apparently Harman wanted to be chair of the House Intelligence Committee and the lobbyist were either going to dontate money or not to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) depending if Harman got the seat. The Congresswoman denied the report by days end.

And I thought the Democrats were the ethical ones. What the heck?

Daniel,

I am troubled by the story and I want all of the details. I won't make excuses for her.

What was the lobbyist trying to get from her? The story is much more interesting if you post that information.

Go look up what the lobbyist wanted?

This story reflects poorly on this woman, who is a Democrat. But in the defense of the Democrats Nancy Pelosi said no to her request.

@ Rock
It is again that heap of sh!t of AIPAC, this foreign entity with its propagandists and congressman/women on payroll, its foreign agents stealing US State secrets and corrupting wannabe traitors to work for the foreign State of Israel against the US citizen interests.

Hopefully there is right now only ten articles over google news speaking of this story, most of them hiding the usual 'troubling' (Israel/AIPAC related) details. Nothing new for «the land of the free and the home of the brave» and its "free press"...

If she's trying to cozy up to Nancy Pelosi, all I can is, "when you cozy up to a dirty floor, you get dirty."

Pelosi is consistent though... she always contradicts herself. Her worst enemy is HERSELF.

Is the power play game all that wonderful to these people? Is it any wonder that people in this country are fed up with politicians?

The question "Is Congresswoman Jane Harman Corrupt?" is an oxymoron. Being a politician of any office is synonymous with corruption. Not only is Congresswoman Jane Harman corrupt but also she is lying cheating stealing traitorous scum.

Wireless,

You are attacking Pelosi for NOT giving into Harman? Make up your mind.

Of course Harmon is corrupt..but people like her have been doing this sh.t for years, and got rich at the expense of our country's national interest. What a hypocrite, first she was all for wiretapping, but now that the shoe is on the other foot, she has become Mother Theresa.

But I am still not convinced that anything will change in Washington. So much for CHANGE.

Wally

Wally,

She was making a deal to get people to pressure Speaker Pelosi to appoint her to head a committee. The Bush Administration supported her and helped her but Democrats stopped her.

Nancy Pelosi said no.

If it was politics as usual she would have been in charge but Democrats stopped her.
