Vote YES on Prop 1F

Looking over my absentee ballot I took care to read proposition 1F. It is titled Elected Officials' Salaries. Prevents PayIncreases During Budget Deficit Years. Pretty much if the budget is in a deficit like it is this  year, then the Legilature will not be able to give themselve or their staff a raise. Just last week Speaker Karen Bass gave her staff raises. 1F would not allow those pay increases. I bet Speaker Bass and her staff are voting NO on 1F.

So when you recieve your ballot in the mail or at the polling place, be sure to vote YES on 1F.

Daniel,

Funny you would feebly attempt to make it into a partisan issue when the state and local Republican Party both oppose the measure.

I support Measure 1F.

Why do you think local Republicans oppose it?

Brian, Funny you wouldnt expect it to be a partisan issue when this the only way to whip the legislature into shape. The California legislature is making this state into such a nanny state that we should be able to nanny the legislature back. Lets put a check on their income. See how they like the nanny law.

I agree with you that Proposition 1F is a decent idea. My point though is that the Republican Party opposes it and the Democratic Party supports it.

Why do you think the Republican Party is against it?

I’m voting yes on 1F, but let me explain;
First as far as the budget goes the effect will be so small as to be negligible.
Second it will likely be declared unconstitutional. The legislature wrote it with that intent.

So what does 1F do? 1F is a referendum on the Governor and Legislator’s performance. A NO-CONFIDENCE vote if you will. It is the voter’s opportunity to tell scumbag politicians everywhere that we have had enough! As the Daley machine in Chicago used to say; Vote early, Vote Often. Let’s have a 99% yes vote on 1F, this is assuming Karen Bass and her staff are voting no.

Vote YES on 1F
And then vote them out at the next election.

Vote NO on 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E

Go ahead and try to attack Karen Bass but the Democrats endorsed Proposition 1F and the Republicans oppose it.

I'm not siding with the republicans or the democrats. In my opinion ALL politicians are lying cheating theiving scum. None of them represent me or even try to.

We need to throw all the current crop of b@stards out in 2010.

Vote NO on 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E

Vote YES on 1F

I am going no on 1F because the reality is who makes the determination of when the raises on who can administer a salary cap?

I agree that there should be a moratorium on salary increases for legislators during a deficit. These officials were elected to serve the people of this state, allegedly for the greater good, and not necessarily for the salary.
However, the legislature staffers should remain entitled to salary raises because the amount of work and effort they exert more than justifies an annual increase.

I would prefer that the 1F bill read that if they don't balance the budget, they don't get paid at all. That will be the only motivation to fix there sorry a$$es.

That is exactly how I voted. Our "elected" officials need to fix what is broke and not play a shell game with our money!

That sounds great Jeffe. Even better, we write a ballot measure that pays them $10.00 an hour. Not paying them is definetly out of the question so we just reduce them to a rate that the real world would pay for their quality of work.

Who cares if the Republicans support it, there are so few of them in the state government anyway.
