I am surprised you are defending someone carrying a gun and a sign saying it is time to spill blood by a presidential event.

Uhhhhh, yup I'm sure. It IS time for all freedom loving Americans to show up at protests, townhall meetings and anywhere else they so desire (with very, very few exceptions say like, a courtroom) carrying firearms. Openly or concealed. Licensed or not. Do we need a license to exercise any other constitutionally protected right? And, the first amendment protects their right to carry any sign they desire. So, both carrying a sign and a firearm are constitutionally protected rights. At least they're supposed to be.

Too many corrupt politicians, legislative and executive, and too many corrupt judges are not complying with their oaths of office to support and defend the US Constitution as the "Supreme law of the land."

I've had it. No more. They either uphold their oaths and protect our unalienable rights or we get rid of them. Peacefully if possible but get rid of them whatever it takes.

The legal open carry of guns does not compare to the actual violence and atmosphere of violence created by Obama supporters. And there was no trouble or violence.

These crazy leftists generally attack only the elderly or the unarmed. And why downplay the Obama supporters all to frequent violence?

The first under reported instance in Thousand Oaks was when Grant Markus a healthcare reform supporter lunged at and attacked a doctor. He was only prevented from doing more violence because 3 armed deputies were on hand to drag him down and haul him off in handcuffs. The deputies did not have to pull their guns and shoot this local peace activist because even this out of control Obama supporter must have realized that his further violence might result in him being shot.

The second instance in Thousand Oaks was an Obama supporter who bit off a finger of a senior citizen. It could not be re-attached and after the attacker tore through the bone and tendon of his finger. This madman Obama supporter is still on the loose with not a one of attackers "peaceful" group of friends condemning the violence or offering the authorities any information about him.

Luckily no one had a gun there or the situation could have turned out a lot worse? Not so lucky for the attacked Doctor or senior citizen missing his finger. Guns would probably have prevented the violence entirely without a shot being fired.

Had these victims been openly carrying a gun without no one probably would have been hurt. Guns carried by law abiding citizens and/or the police is what prevent most violence from escalating or occurring when dealing with these out of control cowards.

Don't be so quick to condemn law abiding citizens who didn't break any laws and more importantly aren't violent being towards anyone. In fact these armed protesters just may have prevented the type of violence we have seen in Thousand Oaks.

I doubt guns at the Thousand Oaks rally would have prevented the fight or the finger biting. UInless the gun was directly in someones face, then what is to stop people from fighting. And really, if a fight breaks out, who is going to come running with their gun waving it in the air.

Police, like in the instance you mentioned, broke up the incident without using or brandishing their firearms. And if we went according to your theory, the fight should not have occurred, because guns were around.

Obviously guns do not stop fights from happening.

On the issue of the picture of the man holding the sign, "It is time to water the tree of liberty," I saw the guy on the Kieth Oberman show and Keith ripped him a new one. He really had no good excuse for holding the sign and carrying the gun except for that it is his right.

And for those who dont know, the quote is one of Thomas Jefferson and here it is in its entirety:

So pretty much, you can sumise that Barack Obama is the patriot that this sign wielder is calling for to water the tree of liberty. And yes, that is unnacceptable.
