Will The Obama Administration Legalize Marijuana?

Earlier this week, the Obama administration issued new guidelines to the prosecution of medical marijuana. The new policy says that the government will not pursue or prosecute cases involving low level medical marijuana cases. This is a change in policy from that of the Bush administation, where all cases would be pursued. During the Bush tenure, many medical marijuana shops across California were raided by the Drug Enforment Agency. Medical marijuana was taken very seriously.

Since the new administration has taken office, many changes have taken place. The raids on the marijuana dispensaries have stopped and medical marijuana prosecutions are being halted. So what is the next step?

Obviously, it would be the legalization of marijuana.

Already in the state, petitions for the 2010 elections are being circulated that would legalize marijuana. Even if marijuana was legalized in the state of California, it would still be illegal federally. So in the long run, it would be illegal overall. If we follow the current trends though, once the state legalizes marijuana, the feds will follow.

At least if AB 390 passes, we can stop pretending that the medical marijuana loophole is anything but an end-run around existing drug laws.

In a medical point of view how marijuana could afect you.
A number of studies have shown an association between chronic marijuana use and increased rates of anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and schizophreni, and an abuser's risk of a hart attack quadruples. Also smoking marijuana the man's SEX drive might deteriorate over time. Marijuana could cause miscariage low birth weigt, and premature births. There for I am ageinst passing the law of marijuana people only abuse it.

Im agenst marijuana abusers to.
But, Mr.Golsdberg what du you think about the pay cut to help the economy?
In my point a view i think it's a good idea.

I think that kanabis shoudent be legel my brothers friend has a prescription for kanabis and he is not sick. He also is abusing the drug.

Lucy,

Compare marijuana users suicide rates to police officers, the military, judges, and politicians. One would think marijuana prevents suicide looking at the real numbers.

Here are some other things more dangerous than marijuana. Let's put those sharp Bush Republican minds to work on these problems as well.

1) Furniture- injures approx 15,000 children a year!
2) The ingredients of flu vaccines. Compare ingredients.
3) Medical error in hospital- 195,000 deaths per year
4) Poor diet/Obeisity-365,000 deaths per year
5) Alcohol- 85,000 deaths per year
6) Prescription drugs- 32,000 deaths per year
7) NSAID's(such as aspirin)-7,600 deaths per year
8) Avalanche- approx 25 deaths per year
9) Car accidents- 37,000 deaths per year
10) Tobacco- 435,000 deaths per year
11) Firearms- 28,000 per year
12) Diabetes- 69,000 per year
13) Falls- 13,000 per year
14) Drowning-4,000 per year

I say There hasnt been enough studies done on the right test subjects (like humans instead of lab animals) done in the right environments, with all the variations (vaporizing, edibles, different strains, and the reaction from straight cannabiniods and other chemicals by themselves from cannabis)we've only found questionable reactions from smoking (joints, pipes, bongs) and using pure THC. If it is indeed legallized then the government should make laws (like alcohol usage) to help prevent massive abuse and possible intoxicated like accidents
