So Much Distrust

"You know what, I think I'll pass. I'm just fed up with politics right now."

That was a response I recieved Monday while out collecting signatures for my candidacy. It seems to be a lot of people's mantra these days. Just look at the tea party movement and the town hall forums that took place last year. Sometimes I too wonder what I am getting myself into with this election. It seems like a lot of people start out with good intentions but then in the end it becomes something entirely different than they wanted.

Take for example President Obama's healthcare plan. Yes, it is a great idea that all Americans would be entitled to health care. Unfortunately, what started out as a great idea has become something much worse. I do not support the idea because it is not what we want. Americans want to be able to have the liberty to have healthcare, not have it rammed down their throats. As well, we can not afford this healthcare that so many hope will save America. It would be detrimental to many businesses increasing operating costs ten fold. As well, the healthcare sector would become stretched thin. I've read about doctors in other countries, themselves becoming apathetic to the cause because of the sheer work volume that a universal healthcare system creates. In this day and age, we need to have everyone wanting to work together towards a common goal and healthcare is obviously not one of those that we as a country choose to support.

Daniel,

That would be an interesting argument but there is no universal healthcare plan being discussed by our congressional leaders.

You're fed up with politics too that's why you're running for office.

One guy having a bad day does not a campaign make. Drive on with the many who encourage you. They are your base today maybe you will get the grumpy guy tomorrow.

I feel the same way on this health care issue what started with a big bang is fizzling out and you can see the frustration on Obamas face.... I was watching him talk on TV last week letting the public know that his new employment package will bring 100,000 jobs??? who is he kidding when was the last time a president got us a job?? sure if we are buliding a battle ship or something but other than that I think he's full of it. I trust none of them
