Election Season

The “election season” for national elections traditionally ran from Labor Day until the day in November when the actual election took place.

It is beginning to appear that for liberals, the real ‘election season” begins the day after the election, which is usually a defeat.

Al Gore still can’t get past losing to George Bush in the 2000 presidential election. It was the Supreme Court, Jeb Bush, chads or the boogeyman, but someone stole his election and at least in this country, liberals can’t get over it.

The same mindset has infected liberals worldwide as evidenced by Mexican presidential candidate – and loser – Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador unwillingness to accept his loss to conservative Felipe Calderon. Lopez Obrador continues to push for another recount and promises to never quit trying to take what he didn’t earn.

Now, John Kerry is back on the “I didn’t really lose” trail, announcing that election improprieties by Ohio’s Secretary of State Ken Blackwell cost him the race in Ohio and as a result, the presidency.

Kerry said in an email sent to over 100,000 Democratic donors…

“He (Blackwell) used the power of his state office to try and intimidate Ohioans and suppress the Democratic vote.” and “used his office to abuse our democracy and threaten basic voting rights.”

What I don’t understand about the liberals’ efforts here, beyond the childish inability to graciously accept defeat, is that every Democratic spokesperson claims they speak for the vast majority of Americans and yet they can’t win national elections. Americans can almost always be counted on for two things; supporting underdogs and despising sore losers. Liberals seem to count on the first and forget the second.

Win in the marketplace of ideas or lose graciously, but quit insulting the American public - and voters – by claiming victory following every defeat.

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,

I love your blog and would love to thank you for everything you are doing to save the world from the stupid crybaby liberals. I especially would like to thank you for sticking it to them when they cry about electoral fraud. Who cares if maybe some of the concerns raised were valid? It would have only taken a short while to disprove their claims, but who’s got time to ensure that democracy prevailed when we are too busy celebrating the election results?

What makes me mad is that they believe that there was election fraud in the 2000 Presidential Election. Give me a break! Who really cares if scrub lists were used to prevent people from voting? They probably weren’t smart enough to make the right choice. Who cares if the person presiding over the Florida elections was also the Bush Florida campaign co-chair? Surely a person who accepts illegal donations wouldn’t do anything wrong. Who cares that a man on the Executive Committee of the Miami-Dade Republican Party was removed from office for electoral fraud in 1998? Xavier L. Suarez can change in two years, can’t he? Stupid crybaby liberals!

That’s why I like you so much Mr. Limbaugh. You are willing to stand up and rely on name calling instead of debunking the “facts” or using your brain to explain why the 2000 election wasn’t stolen. I say screw democracy if it doesn’t work for us! I bet we’d both be pro-choice if they were only aborting those stupid crybaby liberals.

Thanks again Mr. Limbaugh. You don’t think and that’s why I want you doing the thinking for me.

Yours truly,

Mr. Gaskins

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."- Hermann Goering

Mr. Gaskins-

I believe that the point that was made is that there is nothing beneficial being done by the likes of Al Gore (and the 2000 presidential election that you continue to refer too) as he continues to whine to the media. No new evidence has come to light since Bush went into office, and the Supreme Court already ruled on the case before Bush was sworn in. I think that you are very willing to forget that the "facts" were debunked, both by the Supreme Court court and then by the voters 4 years later.

I believe that part of the point of the article is that wheather or not the "facts" that you state are true (though I would like to point out again that the election results swere challenged and upheld in court) it won't change anything now. If we were still whinning about election Fraud from JFK it would not accomplish anything, it either happened or it didn't. It had its day in court and what we need to do as a country is move foward and better ourselves not simply dwell on the past.
