When you think of politics and tea parties these days, the image of a dainty hand with raised pinky lifting a China teacup is not exactly what comes to mind.
But that's the image the Ventura County chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus evokes in announcing its event next Saturday at the Dudley House in Ventura. They're calling in, "Politics, Tea & Thee."
Among the guests will be former Santa Barbara County Supervisor Susan Rose.

Thanks for the plug, Timm! :-)
It actually is a tea party. (But not that kind of a TEA Party.) We named it Politics, Tea and Thee years ago, long before current events usurped the name. It's NWPC's biggest event of the year, a fundraiser to support our endorsed candidates.
We have a panel discussion every year as well. This year we focus on the great need to get more women elected to public office. In the Assembly, for instance, only 20 of 80 members are women, and five are termed out.
The time is 1-4 p.m.
I wondered how our event title would play this year. The original thought behind combining politics and a garden party style tea was to reinforce the idea that politics can indeed be civil.
Please provide information on attending this program. No address or contact information has been provided. Thank you.
The Dudley House is on the corner of Ashwood and Loma Vista in Ventura.

Susan Rose? Ugh!!! Isn't she the one who insisted that Goleta Beach up near UCSB be allowed to revert to nature? No thanks!
