Still holding out for a share of the WSC North title and a playoff berth, Oxnard travels to No. 5 Ventura tonight for a revival of their Ventura County rivalry. Ventura coach Greg Winslow, coaching his final regular season home game, has on the orange blazer he wears for Oxnard home games. Oxnard hasn't won at Ventura since 2000, Winslow's debut season.
Oxnard scored the first four points, but Ventura's Prince Abidoye followed with a 3-pointer. John Johnson's drive gives the Condors an early 6-3 lead.
Will Faiivae, getting a rare start for the Pirates, scored to pull Ventura even, 10-10. But Oxnard scores the next five points to take a 15-10 lead and force a VC timeout.

Ryan McLucas, the Rio Mesa High product, nearly drains a 3 to make it a 10-point game. The next time down, Jonathan Mallow does it to put Oxnard up 20-10 with 9:06 left in the first half.

Crawford just pulled down his 10th rebound with 2:15 left in the half. Malloy scores to make it 36-17.
Oxnard leads 38-17 at the half. Jonathan Malloy has a game-high 13 points, Brandon Hames has eight points, Crawford has five points and nine rebounds and John Johnson has six points and five assists. Oxnard is shooting 60 percent (15 of 25), while holding Ventura to 7 of 26.
Abidoye leads Ventura with six points. Menner and Dixon combine for just seven points.
With its season on the line, what a first half from Oxnard. And Ventura doesn't look too motivated coming out of the team room. Looks like Menner will be benched to start the second half.
