Re-elect Mayor Lopez?

lopez (2).jpg

This picture is from the corner of Galena and Cochran right outside of the street fair on Saturday.( What is going on with the Mayor Lopez sign?)

The Street fair in a primary election is the biggest event for voters and politicians to meet. Any candidate serious about winning should be there. I saw many of my readers and many local leaders.

I saw Council Member Steve Sojka, Jim Dantona, Judy Mikels, Peter Foy, Michael Tenenbaum''s campaign, The Simi Valley Republicans, Simi Valley Democrats, Cameron Smyth, and I just missed Bob Larkin. I also heard Elton Gallegly was there for a short time in the moring, but I must of missed him too. Someone said Jim Alger( Democrat running against Smyth) and Rev. Jill Martinez ( Democrat running for congress) were also walking around. The only candidate for state wide office was Dr. Keith Richman ( Republican running for Treasurer). I will create entries and share my pictures in the days ahead.

I didn;t hear anything about Ferial Masry or Audra Strickland.

Comments

There is no link for Audra Strickland because I would prefer to link to her campaign site, not her government paid site. If you know the url for her campaign site, please post it.

Is that a Jim Alger sign on the right side of the photo? Hard to make out.

It is indeed, though I'll be damned as to how it got there. I thought we sent corrugated plastic signs to Simi. Weird.

Hmmm, VCS strips out HTML from the posts, pity.

Mayor Lopez

So I wake up this morning and I see the Alger invasion in the 38th has begun.

HIS FRIEKING SIGNS ARE EVERYWHERE!

Interesting strategy though, they don't say what he is running for. Had me guessing, which my guess is, was exactly the point.

Glad to see Democrats with a pulse in Simi Valley. It's about damn time.

Do you think Jim Alger will be able to spend the money required to create a stir?

Posted by: Not Jim Alger at May 14, 2006 10:20 PM

I don't know... I think he has already "created a stir." (When have you EVER seen lawnsigns, mailers or phonebanks, buttons or bumperstickers for the 38th?... FROM A DEMOCRAT!!)

So far I have been called 3 times in what seemed to be timed to the absentee ballot mailings, I have received one mailing and saw the lawn signs sprout up this morning (they aren't cheap either, they're plastic weatherproof signs that sit real low to the ground)

He should have the primary locked up, it is going to be interesting to see if local Democrats and the party step up to the plate. Not only did I vote for him, I sent him 50 bucks so I may be biased.

Looking at the statistics - and not to dump on my corner of the 38th - Simi Valley Dems rock hardcore.

Richman's LA voters will have no use for the new-model Republican in the race, so Simi Valley will see a lot of action for the 38th this time out, assuming Alger takes the primary.

Brian, just posting a link to the first online appearance of the Alger 2006 campaign signs -- yours is the second :)

There are individuals in this blog that don’t like what I have to say, so they are now resorting to making fake posts using my name in order to discredit me. This is an underhanded, sleazy tactic that needs to be exposed. I will not be intimidated or silenced by these types of tactics and dirty tricks. Anybody who values truth and honesty has an obligation stand up against this as well. Even if you don’t like what someone has to say, all of us need to be committed to giving everyone the right to freely express their views. Otherwise we undermine free speech and sabotage the expression of ideas. And exactly what purpose would this blog serve if it simply became a tool to wage smear campaigns and spread lies against others?
