The Rev. Jill Martinez will be holding an East County Strategy meeting on July 29th. Click on continue reading for more details.

What tactics or strategy could Democrats use to change the dynamics of this race? Is it too late? Could this be a tidal wave year for Democrats? Are the districts too partisan to matter?

I will also post events for Elton Gallegly. If you see any around please e-mail them to me.

Has anyone seen Elton Gallegly around lately?

She should spend the bulk of her time in vote rich Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. Maybe talk about biotech with Amgen workers. As a Rev. she could discuss stem cell ethics.

I hope she is willing to debate Elton Gallegly! If she won't debate she deserves zero votes.

>I hope she is willing to debate Elton Gallegly!

Uh, Free Dog, it's _Elton_ who doesn't debate challengers. From a tactical standpoint, why should he? He's in a safe, gerrymandered district that rubber stamps his return to Washington every two years. He has absolutely nothing to gain by giving credibility to a challenger by debating her.

Whether this is in the best interests of democracy in general or our district in particular is a different issue.

But Jill Martinez (or any other challenger) is not calling the shots on a debate in '06 or any other year.

Hello all,

The Jill Martinez campaign needs everyone in Simi Valley's help to locate an office. We'd like to open a storefront where there is significant activity - like Sycamore Plaza at Cochran and Sycamore, but all leads would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Chris Robson
Campaign Director

P.S. Regarding posts about debates, Jill Martinez will debate her opponent in any reasonable forum and format; she will not debate a surrogate.
