Senator Coburn says war was likely a mistake.

Senator Coburn is an odd man. I support his efforts to cut waste and I like it that he calls his party out for reckless spending. But he does say completely wild things at times.

He recently has said that he now believes that Iraq was a mistake but we are stuck there for the time being. You can read the full story by clicking here.

Oh yeah, he is also a big supporter of John McCain.

The paradox is hard to make a political point out of easily. It appears that more and more people think Barack Obama was right to oppose the war, but that McCain's supporters think Barack Obama is wrong now to end the war.

Is that right?

It's probably just a twisted republican ploy to soften the vote against them. This issue is easily compared to a sick addictive love affair, when thinking it was not the best choice but maybe it'll get better in the future.

We need to money and focus back home. We have folks without health care, loosing homes, jobs, gas prices sky rocketing, and nations stacking up against us for our international behavior. To continue in this war is a desperately sick choice, as would be staying in an abusive relationship. Consider we are paying Iraqis NOT to shoot at our soldiers. What happens when we stop paying them? Or do we just pay them forever?

When a war tactic is said to be working it used to mean our soldiers are closer to coming home.

In the Iraq War, when the "surge" is said to be working; it's a reason to lengthen the war.

Why is it that no one is talking about Michelle Obabama's big flub last week when she proclaimed that she's never before been proud to be an American? Surely, in 44 years, there would be one time in her life when she was proud to be an American, wouldn't you say?

Maybe if you learned to spell her name right people would debate it with you.

If that's all you can get me on (a spelling error), your pea brain must be incapable of debating me on the issue.

Mongo is attacking women again.

Mongo - huge difference between saying "never been proud" and "never been prouder". Your foolish attempt at debating a falsehood just makes you look small and bitter and bored with issues of substance.

Brian L., sorry you got the quote wrong. The exact quote was: "For the first time in my life, I am proud of my country..." Just because the mainstream press has refused to delve into this further, it doesn't mean I shouldn't. Please get your information correct before "attempting" to discredit me. It just makes you look small, bitter, and bored with issues of substance.

Mongo the exact quote from McCain a few days ago was "I am a proud Conservative Liberal republican." He also said "We need to keep U.S. troops in Iraq for another hundred years."

George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld were more destructive to freedom and democracy in America than Saddam Hussein ever could in his wildest dreams.

If John McCain thinks what the previous administration did was right he is the wrong choice for America. How much longer does America have to be known as that country with the dumb leader? It's been eight years we need a break.

I'm hearing now that some written affiliation has been established between Obama and Hugo Chavez (the Venezualan varmint). Apparently, Obama has agreed, through some contacts his associates made, to take more of a hands off approach and be less vocally critical of Chavez, if elected president.
